Ian Bell expecting a strong comeback by Australia ? Cricket News

Ian Bell, the England batsman, is expecting Australia to bounce back hard in the second Test of the five-match Ashes series at the Lord?s and does not think that the Baggy Greens have been demoralized after their defeat at Trent Bridge.

The Kangaroos lost the opening match of the battle by just 14 runs and some of the sporting analysts have claimed that Michael Clarke and company are disheartened by the loss.

However, Bell, who made a match-winning hundred at Trent Bridge, understands the psychology of the Australian and knows that they are going to fight extremely hard in the second match, which has started today at one of the most historic cricket venues of the world.

England have been tipped as clear favourites for this series but the middle-order batsman thinks that Australia?s impressive performance at Trent Bridge would have given them a lot of hope.

"People have suggested that Australia may be deflated after getting so close to winning the first test but I don't see it that way at all,? said Bell. "They will be 100% up for the second test because, first, that's the nature of any Australian team, second they will know they could have easily won at Nottingham and, third, they are playing at Lords, a venue where every team in the world gets up for.?

Bell is of the opinion that there is not going to be any one-sided fixture in this series and understands that the Poms will have to produce their best game to keep Australia away from regaining the illustrious urn.

"It wouldn't surprise me if the second test is as tight as the first, and if the rest of the series is also very tight,? he added.

England have won the toss in the second Test and has opted to bat first. At lunch on day one of the fixture, the home team had posted 80 runs for the loss of three wickets. Bell is at the crease once again and the right-hander is looking in great touch, along with Jonathon Trott, who failed to make a big score in the first Test.?
