Kim English added 16 points for the Tigers (13-0), who continued their best start since opening 19-0 in 1981-82. They got all they could handle in their first true road game under first-year coach Frank Haith from the Colonial Athletic Association power.
Old Dominion (6-7), spurred on by a raucous sellout crowd and able to match the Tigers physically, was tied 67-all with the Tigers before Denmon hit his fourth 3-pointer with 1:01 on the clock. Denmon added both ends of a one-and-one with 42 seconds left to make it 72-67.
Kent Bazemore led Old Dominion with 16 points and Trian Iliadis had 15.

Mike Scott, Virginia?s leading scorer coming in at 16.3 points per game, was held to just seven as the Cavaliers (12-1) won their 10th straight game despite shooting just 34.8 percent (16 of 46) from the field.
Towson, one of the youngest teams in the nation, was led by freshman Kris Walden?s 15 points, while sophomore Marcus Damas added 13. The Tigers fell to 0-13 and extended their overall losing streak to 32 games dating to last season.
Virginia?s biggest lead was nine points early in the second half, but Towson pulled to 46-43 with a little over 3 minutes left before halftime.

MACON, Ga. ? Markisha Wright had 24 points, Skylar Diggins had 21, and No. 3 Notre Dame scored the most points in school history in overwhelming Mercer, giving the Fighting Irish their 10th straight win.
After setting a school record with 72 points in the first half, Notre Dame needed only the first 10 minutes of the second half to reach 100 points for the first time this season.
Notre Dame (13-1), looking for a repeat trip to the NCAA championship game, opens its Big East schedule at Seton Hall on Wednesday.

PHILADELPHIA ? Tricia Liston scored 20 points to lead No. 8 Duke to a win over Temple.
Duke (9-2) has had a lot of rest lately, playing just two games over the past 19 days. The Blue Devils showed no early rust against Temple, jumping out to a 17-point halftime lead before allowing the Owls to climb back in the game.
Lewis and Shey Peddy scored 13 each to lead Temple (5-7).

WASHINGTON ? Monique Oliver tied her season high with 23 points to lead Rutgers to a victory over George Washington.
April Sykes added 17 points and Khadijah Rushdan had 13 for the Scarlet Knights (11-2), who begin Big East play at home against Syracuse on Tuesday.
Tara Booker scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half for GW.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. ? Jordan Hooper scored 31 points, including a clinching 3-pointer with 17 seconds left, and No. 23 Nebraska won its Big Ten debut with a victory over No. 16 Penn State.
Hooper also had 12 rebounds and Lindsey Moore added 16 points for the Cornhuskers (12-1, 1-0).
The game was tied twice more in the late stages and Penn State still trailed by just one point after a made foul shot by Alex Bentley with 1:58 left. The Cornhuskers sealed the victory by scoring the final seven points of the game.
Bentley led the Nittany Lions (10-3, 0-1) with 22 points and eight steals. Maggie Lucas added 18 points and Nikki Greene had 15 rebounds.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. ? Antionette Howard scored the go-ahead basket and K.K. Houser had 15 points to lead No. 20 Purdue to a victory over Minnesota in the Big Ten opener for both teams.
Howard scored with 1:27 left in the game to give the Boilermakers a 54-52 lead. She finished with 13 points and four rebounds.
Rachel Banham scored 15 points and Leah Cotton had 11 for the Golden Gophers (8-7).
Minnesota took a lead in the first half after being tied at 19 when Katie Loberg hit a jumper, which sparked the Golden Gophers on a 7-0 run.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. ? Chay Shegog had 20 points and five blocked shots to pace No. 24 North Carolina to a victory over North Carolina Central.
Krista Gross added 15 points and 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season for the Tar Heels (10-2), who beat a MEAC team for the second straight day after demolishing Savannah State 74-21 on Thursday. Brittany Rountree chipped in 11 points.
Chasidy Williams had 15 points and eight rebounds for NCCU (2-12), a first-year full member of NCAA Division I.
