Fans of the World's #1 Track & Field Team and members of USA Track & Field now have an upgraded way to follow the National Governing Body when the organization on Thursday announced the launch of an improved iPhone/iPad app and Fast Forward digital member magazine. It marks the most significant step yet in terms of digital media for USATF.

The app will serve both USATF members and non-members and includes an extensive member-only area while the addition of video and website links will be featured in Fast Forward. Each will be first-time options announced by USATF.

Apple iPhone and iPad users can download the app here.

The improved Fast Forward magazine is also available for member download within the app along with being a digital edition. More information on the digital version of Fast Forward and app can be found here.

USATF re-launches iPhone/iPad app

In 2012, USATF made strides in launching an app and digital edition for the member magazine. In 2013, it went one step further in re-launching an app with both member and non-member benefits.

For both iPad and iPhone users, USATF members now have access to an exclusive member-only area, which features member-only news, access to the Elite Beat and Fast Forward digital magazines and start lists from select USATF championship meets in a mobile format. With improvements to Fast Forward and the addition of Elite Beat and the exclusive member-only news, which includes athlete training tips, audio interviews and Q&As and feature stories, USATF members have access to exclusive content at a level it hasn't seen. Once supplying their member ID numbers, members will be able to download every piece of content within the app.

In addition to the member options in the app, the app for iPad users features highlights from USATF's website and mobile website, which includes social media, news feeds, finding local associations, accessing athlete bios and merchandise, information to become a member and also includes sample portion of Fast Forward. The app organizes the content into a user-friendly mobile format and the section is available for both members and non-members.

Major improvements to Fast Forward

Now a digital-only quarterly publication, members can access the digital edition of the magazine as well as download it as part of the iPhone/iPad app.

The digital version of the magazine allows sharing via social media and members can easily scroll through the high-resolution pages of the publication. Additionally, Fast Forward will now feature website links for additional reading and related videos.

This is the first of four issues in 2013 for Fast Forward. More information on both the iPhone/iPad app and the year's first issue of Fast Forward can be found here.

Members also have access to exclusive, member-only news via USATF.org.
