Island Savings is committed to helping Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies on Vancouver Island.
The relationship between the credit union and Big Brothers Big Sisters started in Victoria and Salt Spring Island in 2010 and gained steady momentum.
Island Savings recently announced a three-year, $60,000 agreement with the Cowichan Valley, and a renewed two-year agreement in Greater Victoria.
An agreement has also been made with the Central Vancouver Island chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters for $60,000.
The partnerships will primarily support the growth of the In-School Mentoring program, which matches referred children at designated schools with screened and trained mentors, and focuses on activities that support positive relationships, resiliency, social development and success in school.
