WHEATON, Ill.--The Connecticut College women's water polo team opened conferences play with an 8-7 victory against Carthage College in a match played on the campus of Wheaton College of Illinois Friday night.
The Camels improved their record to 2-4 with the triumph, while the Lady Reds slip to 2-5 in the setback.
Junior net-minder Pamela Lovejoy (Guilford, Conn.) stopped nine saves in the cage to lead the Camels to the victory.
Emily Hunter (Cheshire, Conn.) had a hat-trick with three scores. Megan Wright (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) scored twice for the winning side.
Junior Kristin Lampley (Reading, Pa.), Mallory Kosow (Exeter, N.H.) and Nicky Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) all contributed scores in the victory for Connecticut College.
The Camels will play four more matches at Wheaton College this weekend.
